AMC & OLTL ELIGIBLE FOR DAYTIME EMMYS!!!

Posted on: October 24, 2013

Yesterday, (Thursday) it was announced that the The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS)
in cooperation with the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS) have added two new categories to the Daytime Emmys!
The first is Entertainment news, like Entertainment Tonight and Access Hollywood.

The second new category, that is truly awesome is the “Outstanding New Approaches Drama Series,” any Daytime Drama series which has less than 35 original episodes in the 2013 calendar year are eligible.  Like Crystal Chappell’s series “Venice,” and the soon to premiere, “Tainted Dreams – The Series.”

Now this is where it gets really exciting!!!
Daytime Dramas that have produced at least 35 original episodes in the calendar year of 2013 are eligible for “Outstanding Drama Series,”
the same category as the Network Daytime Dramas.

This means that Prospect Park’s All My Children and One Life to Live will be competing against The Young & The Restless, The Bold & The Beautiful, General Hospital & Days of Our Lives.  The whole cast and crew of these shows will also be eligible to compete in their appropriate program and craft related categories!

I think a great big THANK YOU is in order!!
Here is the link to their FB post regarding the changes, please leave your heartfelt thanks to them there
